Why Loudmouths?

If/When/How’s signature “loudmouth lawyer” tagline originated in 2018, when Senator Orrin Hatch, R-UT, snapped at a protester who disrupted the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings on Capitol Hill.

"Mr. Chairman, I think we ought to have this loudmouth removed,” Hatch complained. “I mean we shouldn’t have to put up with this kind of stuff. I hope she’s not a law student."

Bad news for the senator: not only was “she” a law student, she was an If/When/How chapter member at Southern Illinois University! Indeed, the If/When/How community is full of loudmouth (and proud) law students and lawyers who aren't afraid to speak up for reproductive justice.
